One big, happy Tramway Family<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The operation of the Tampere Tramway is managed through the close cooperation of several actors. These actors together form the Tampere Tramway family. The design and construction of the Tampere Tramway’s infrastructure and depot, as well as the operation and maintenance of the Tram, are implemented using the alliance model. The Tram family also includes \u0160koda Transtech, which is responsible for the maintenance of the tram fleet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tampere Tramway Ltd.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Tampere Tramway Ltd. is a company owned by the City of Tampere with the city of Kangasala, the municipality of Pirkkala, and the city of Yl\u00f6j\u00e4rvi also as shareholders. The company is responsible for building Tampere\u2019s tramway infrastructure, procuring equipment, arranging financing, developing the Tramway brand, and keeping the tramway system functional.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

City of Tampere<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The City of Tampere is responsible for political decision-making related to the tramway. It handles planning, construction and maintenance of the streets, pedestrian and cycling routes, as well as other general areas associated with the tramway. The city is also responsible for user and public transport fees related to the tramway system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Municipality of Pirkkala<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The Municipality of Pirkkala is responsible for political decision-making related to the tramway. Tampere Region Public Transport, a.k.a. Nysse<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Tampere Region Public Transport, also known as \u201cNysse\u201d, is responsible for organising public transport in the Tampere region as well as the related communication and marketing. Nysse is responsible for ensuring that tramway traffic operates as a seamless part of the regional public transport system. The City of Tampere\u2019s public transport unit commissions and plans the majority of public transport in the region and maintains the ticket system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Tampere Tramway’s Pirkkala\u2013<\/strong><\/strong>Linnainmaa Alliance<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The Tampere Tram Pirkkala-Linnainmaa Alliance designs and builds tramway track and stops from the Tays area to Linnainmaa and from Sorin aukio Square to Pirkkala. The construction work also includes the expansion of the Hervanta depot. The alliance is formed by the clients: the city of Tampere, the municipality of Pirkkala, and Tampere Tramway Ltd., and the service providers: NRC Group Finland Oy, AFRY Finland Oy, Sweco Finland Oy, and YIT Infra Oy<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Tampere Tramway Traffic Alliance<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Tampere Tramway\u2019s Traffic Alliance will handle traffic and traffic control for Tampere Tramway. Members of the Traffic Alliance are VR-Yhtym\u00e4 Oy, Tampere Tramway Ltd and the City of Tampere.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The Tampere Tramway Maintenance Alliance<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

In addition to normal tramway maintenance, Tampere Tramway\u2019s Maintenance Alliance is responsible for winter maintenance for the tramway, maintenance of the power supply station and depot yard areas, and on-call maintenance activities. Maintenance is commissioned by Tampere Tramway Ltd. with NRC Finland Oy and YIT Suomi Oy as the service providers.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Tram Fleet Maintenance<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
